Description

Operates and adjust work cell to perform diversified operations on complicated short run and/or long run repetitive work having close and exacting tolerance and finish specifications involving multi-tooled set-ups.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

\n
• Plans operational sequences; tooling, tools arrangement and clearances, and settings for standardized, for new or unusual work according to layouts & blueprints.
\n
• Adapts and improvises standard tooling, attachments to perform specialized work or variations on parts and does tooling off-sets.
\n
• Grinds or prescribes grinding for standard or special tooling to suit materials or unusual cutting conditions.
\n
• Installs collets, sets tooling in holders, sets tooling stops, and indexing mechanisms operating travel and tool feed rates.
\n
• Sets feed mechanisms and stops to perform operations such as face, form, drill, ream, bore, tap, up to the capacity of the machines.
\n
• Uses drills, reamers, undercut tools, recessing tools, and calipers.
\n
• Monitors steel degree of hardness.
\n
• Monitors hydraulic and cooling fluid levels.
\n
• Maintains machinery through periodic cleaning and oiling.
\n
• Creates pre-set tooling.
\n
• Diagnoses machine malfunctions and operating difficulties which cause deviations and then make corrective adjustments.
\n
• Other duties may be assigned to meet the needs of the business.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

\n
Experience

• At least one year of equivalent experience in similar occupation.

\n
Specific Skills/Abilities

• Ability to read blueprints.

\n
Systems (hardware, software, computer, etc.)

• To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to use and understand internal software.

\n
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Physical Activities include: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing for significant periods of time, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, picking or pinching, grasping, perceive attributes of objects, conveys with other workers, hearing, and repetitive motions.
\n
• Physical Requirements are heavy and can exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently and 20 pounds constantly to move and load objects.
\n

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Duties are occasionally performed under conditions such as dust, dirt, heat, cold, and fumes. Duties are frequently performed under noisy conditions. There is occasional exposure to cuts and abrasions. Observation Acuity standard is the minimum for machine operators; where the inspection of the job is at or within an arm's reach.
