Job Overview Berlinghoff Contracting Inc is seeking a dependable and skilled Generator Mechanic/Technician to join our growing team. This role is critical in ensuring the reliability and performance of residential generator systems. You'll troubleshoot, maintain, and repair generator units of all makes and models while delivering exceptional customer service and coordinating warranty processes and service scheduling. Key Responsibilities - Diagnose, maintain, and repair all makes and models of residential generators
- Perform full-service inspections, tune-ups, and engine repairs including ATS (automatic transfer switches)
- Manage warranty submissions and processing
- Coordinate maintenance schedules and respond to service repair calls
- Accurately document service work and maintain organized paperwork
- Collaborate with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely parts procurement and service delivery
- Ensure timely ordering and replacement of parts for generator units
Key Qualifications - 5+ years of solid mechanical experience (diesel engine knowledge is a plus)
- Familiarity with generator servicing and repair (training available for the right candidate)
- Clean driving record and valid driver's license
- Strong customer relationship and communication skills
- Proactive and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Enthusiastic learner who embraces ongoing technical training
- Technologically proficient and comfortable using Windows and modern job management software
- Must be physically capable of lifting and handling equipment without restrictions
