About SITE: SITE Intelligence Group is a leading provider of terrorist and extremist open-source intelligence and reporting. SITE experts continuously monitor online terrorist/extremist forums for threat content and producing descriptive alerts and intelligence reports.

The Position: SITE is hiring an experienced Writer/Investigative Analyst-Indonesian Expertise to draft alerts, profiles, investigative, and intelligence reports based on open-source monitoring of online terrorist content. Candidates must have a demonstrated ability to write clearly and concisely while facing tight deadlines; proficiency with applying the principles of style guides, such as AP and the Chicago Manual of Style, to different types of writing; excellent social media and open-source research skills; and the ability to proactively thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.

Required qualifications:

• Fluency in Indonesian and English
• Working knowledge of terrorism/extremism: groups, movements, online communities, etc.
• Ability to produce concise, efficiently worded prose
• Familiarity with AP style writing and journalistic writing conventions
• Ability to separate noise from critical information, per the needs of SITE’s readers
• Readiness to communicate edits with SITE’s writers in a patient, constructive manner when necessary

Preferred qualifications:

• Professional or educational background in journalism, national security, global affairs, or a field related to terrorism and extremism
• Experience editing for a news outlet, think tank, research organization, or similar entity
