Overview Life Skills Coach at Justice Resource Institute (JRI). We are an independent living program that houses young individuals from 18-24 years old in small efficiency-type apartments or shared-living housing throughout the Metro, Boston, Central, Northeast and Southeast DCF regions. Salary: Starting at $20/hr Schedule: 32 hours per week Responsibilities You will provide case management to youth to teach them to navigate community resources, make referrals, secure adult services/benefits, and secure a network of permanency and providers post-discharge. You will teach life skills that include driving, medical appointments, acquiring legal docs, budgeting, cooking, education, volunteering job searching/maintenance, community resources and classes, and communication skills. You will utilize trauma-informed care throughout the program by specializing in ARC (Attachment, Regulation, and Competency) framework. You will work in collaboration with the clinical team and administration team to make decisions regarding client treatment. Why JRI? Be who you are! Experience working with older youth and young adults in a mental health setting and trauma-informed care is preferred. Bilingual candidates able to read, write and speak Spanish proficiently are encouraged to apply! Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written formats. Must have general computer skills and strong financial literacy skills. Available to work evenings, holidays, weekend shifts as required. Must have an active driver’s license. At JRI, you will learn to provide physical interventions and verbal de-escalations to provide the safest therapeutic atmosphere for our youth. Background and driving record checks will be performed.
