We are looking for a detail-oriented Part-Time Accountant to join our team in Warwick, Rhode Island. This is a long-term contract position suitable for someone skilled in accounting operations and eager to contribute to the financial success of our organization. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with reporting standards.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare recurring journal entries on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
• Manage and maintain the fixed asset ledger for both book and tax purposes.
• Conduct thorough analysis and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
• Perform ad hoc evaluations of accounting transactions, operational performance, and financial accounts.
• Assist in the month-end close process by providing accurate financial reports and analysis.
• Review and process general expenses, including accounts payable.
• Support the preparation and monthly review of the company’s operating budget.
• Post and verify details of business transactions to subsidiary accounts in the general ledger using receipts, invoices, and other financial documents.
• Generate quarterly and annual financial statements using reporting software, ensuring accuracy and assisting with filings.
• Handle daily bookkeeping responsibilities during staff absences, including vacations and sick days.• Proficiency in preparing journal entries and managing general ledger accounts.
• Strong experience in month-end close processes and financial reporting.
• Expertise in balance sheet reconciliation and analysis.
• Familiarity with fixed asset management for book and tax purposes.
• Ability to perform ad hoc analysis of financial transactions and operational performance.
• Solid understanding of accounts payable processes and expense management.
• Competence in using financial reporting software for statement generation and filing.
• Attention to detail and ability to handle bookkeeping tasks efficiently during absences.
