Job Description

Job Title: Shipping & Receiving Associate
Department: Shipping & Receiving
Hours: Monday-Friday 6:30am-3pm.
Pay Range- $19-22 hourly.

The John Wood Company in Oaks, PA is looking for a full-time Shipping and Receiving Associate. The ideal candidate will have prior shipping and receiving and forklift experience, a strong math aptitude, and a willingness to work. 

Shipping Responsibilities

  • Match work orders and customer orders to verify critical shipment data. Count and package products and materials to ensure safe arrival to the customer

  • Review work orders and shipment details to prepare for routine and special requirements. Special requirements to include:

    • Bagging of tanks

    • Custom crating & insulating

  • Coordinate with shipping companies on urgent and unique pick-ups

  • Coordinate with Customer Service to ensure an understanding and accuracy of customer orders

Receiving Responsibilities

  • Unload trucks with the use of all material handling equipment. Responsible for color coding material for identification purposes, ensure accuracy of storage procedures, company code numbers & material storage locations

  • Receive, inspect and check in all incoming material, supplies & returned goods. Compare against POs and report discrepancies

  • Insure delivery of materials to storage & internal departments

  • Promptly deliver appropriate & accurate material receiving documents to the S/R office for JobBoss entries

  • In conjunction with the S/R Supervisor, implement improvements on shipping & receiving processes to improve efficiencies and accuracy

  • Conduct thorough safety and maintenance inspections on material handling equipment

  • Perform general warehouse clean-up

Requirements

  • Shipping & receiving experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Strong math aptitude and ability to use measurement & inspection tools. ASME experience a plus

  • Valid drivers’ license with proof of auto insurance

  • Mobile material handling equipment experience, forklift certification preferred

  • Strong attention to detail. Effective verbal & written communication skills.

  • Good computer skills to include utilizing an ERP system and Outlook

  • Proven experience in process improvement activities

  • Must be willing to work overtime

  • Maximum lifting & moving: 75 pounds
