Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform repairs on drivetrains, transmissions, and hydraulic systems, including replacing components and gears as needed.
  • Utilize computerized diagnostic tools and testing equipment to identify issues and maintain detailed service reports.
  • Complete scheduled and unscheduled work orders promptly while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and ensure the reliability of underground equipment in challenging environments.
  • Test repaired equipment to verify functionality and recommend improvements to optimize performance and reliability.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years of recent experience working as a heavy-duty mechanic, preferably in underground mining or resource industries.
  • Familiarity with underground equipment, such as bolters, scoops, jumbos, and hydraulic drills, is required.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience working with Maclean Bolters, as these will be the primary equipment you will be working on.
  • Experience with key equipment brands such as Sandvik, Liebherr, Epiroc, CAT, and Komatsu will be considered an asset.
  • Journeyman Heavy Duty Off-Road Technician certification is required.
  • Red Seal Certification is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Commitment to working safely in confined spaces and underground conditions.
Additional Requirements:

Preferred Candidates Have:
  • Experience maintaining and repairing underground equipment in mining operations.
  • Familiarity with underground safety procedures and confined space protocols.
  • Knowledge of surface equipment is an asset, but this role is specific to underground operations.
