Overview VIC the PICC (VTP) is a specialized healthcare provider focused on vascular access consulting services to acute care hospitals, skilled nursing facilities and home healthcare. We provide vascular access device insertion services, post-access support services including declotting, line removal, port access and venous access troubleshooting. VTP also provides continuing education, precepting and other educational support to clinical team members and customers. VTP provides on-site and mobile vascular access support services throughout the Western and Southern United States and aims to deliver innovative, affordable and easy to procure services with high levels of client and patient satisfaction. As a Vascular Access Nurse Consultant, you will work with our customer’s clinical team to resolve venous access issues to facilitate treatment objectives of the treating physician. The role may be inside or outside the hospital setting depending on each referral, providing a unique opportunity to observe different treatment protocols and patient challenges. Responsibilities Place PICCs, midlines and peripheral IVs with ultrasound and use ECG confirmation. Assist with management of PICCs and vascular access devices. Provide a wide range of vascular access support services including port access, line removal, declotting, and related tasks. Educate facility nursing staff regarding PICCs, midlines and other CVADs. Eligible for a $10,000 sign-on bonus for full-time employment, based on prior vascular access experience. Training and Experience Requirements Ideal candidates are experienced in ultrasound-guided IV placements (USGIV) and vascular access device (VAD) insertions. Training available in some locations for candidates with recent, consistent USGIV placement experience. Priority given to fully trained vascular access nurses; additional training available for candidates with strong USGIV skills. Nurse Consultant Qualifications Registered Nurse with current license Minimum of 3 years’ experience in acute care (preferred) American Heart Association BLS Certification Experience placing ultrasound-guided IVs Experience with other vascular access device (VAD) placements using ultrasound Experience in vascular access device management, including care, maintenance, and troubleshooting Ability to work independently Fulfill scheduling requirements as indicated by job classification Current and valid driver’s license and auto insurance Smartphone access and reliable transportation to travel to patient sites Compensation Based on candidate experience and relevant certifications.
