The Veterinary Hospital Receptionist (Concierge) position involves providing excellent customer care to Petco full-service Vetco Total Care hospital clients. The Concierge represents the mission and values to all customers and is typically the first and last person a client encounters when entering the hospital. Responsibilities include answering the practice phone and routing calls, maintaining the hospital appointment calendar, greeting visitors and clients by name, monitoring wait times, participating in training new staff, ensuring the waiting area is clean and well-stocked, confirming appointments by clients' preferred communication method, and providing backup support to technical staff as needed. The Concierge plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient day-to-day hospital operations and optimal patient and client experience, often dealing with upset clients compassionately and flexibly. The role requires a high school diploma, at least 1 year of experience in veterinary practice or customer-facing roles, excellent communication skills, compassion, professionalism, telephone and computer skills, and a team player attitude. Preferred experience includes using a Practice Management System. The job is conducted in a veterinary hospital environment and may involve physical activities such as bending, kneeling, lifting up to 30 pounds, and standing for long periods. The position reports to the Hospital Office Manager and Hospital Leader on Duty and has no supervisory duties.
