Vice President - Investment Banking, Professional Services

Stout is seeking an experienced Vice President to join our Investment Banking group, specifically within the Defense & Government team, a key practice area in our Professional Services division. This role will focus on leading day-to-day transaction execution for middle-market mergers and acquisitions (M&A), capital raising, employee stock ownership plans (ESOP), and special situation transactions. The Vice President will play a pivotal role in driving the firm's M&A and Capital Markets advisory efforts while gaining extensive deal process experience by collaborating with senior bankers and serving as a critical resource in client coverage, prospecting, and engagement execution.

The Defense & Government team specializes in working with companies in the aerospace, defense, government services, and enterprise technology sectors. This is an exciting opportunity to lead impactful transactions and contribute to a high-performing team in a dynamic industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner closely with senior banking professionals on the Professional Services team to support business development through client coverage, prospecting, program management, and transaction execution.
  • Lead the evaluation, origination, and execution of deals across diverse assignments, with a focus on the defense and government services markets.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, primarily through the delivery of high-quality transaction execution and advisory services.
  • Oversee all aspects of transaction execution, including team coordination, stakeholder engagement, and the development of advisory strategies and product ideas.
  • Mentor and manage junior team members (associates, analysts, and interns) to ensure timely delivery of high-quality engagement deliverables.
  • Manage complex financial modeling, pitch book creation, and deal logistics while maintaining strong client communication and engagement.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of professional experience.
  • 4-10 years of M&A investment banking experience preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years managing end-to-end M&A transactions.
  • Prior experience in Professional Services, particularly in aerospace, defense, government services, or enterprise technology, is preferred but not required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field (required).
  • MBA (preferred).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and other Office tools.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
