Are you a hands-on leader with a strategic mindset and a passion for operational excellence? We're looking for a Fleet Maintenance Manager to take ownership of our vehicle and equipment maintenance program—driving safety, compliance, and uptime across our fleet.
This high-impact role is responsible for leading a team of skilled technicians, managing preventive and corrective maintenance, and collaborating cross-functionally to ensure our fleet is always ready to perform. Lead a high-performing team of technicians and support staff, driving accountability, development, and performance.
Design and manage a comprehensive maintenance program to ensure the safety, compliance, and readiness of all fleet vehicles and equipment.
Oversee daily operations: inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance scheduling.
Partner with vendors and internal departments to ensure timely service and minimal downtime.
Manage budgets, track KPIs (like vehicle downtime and cost per mile), and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
Ensure full compliance with DOT, OSHA, emissions, and licensing regulations.
Drive process improvements that boost fleet efficiency, reduce downtime, and extend equipment life.
Lead hiring, onboarding, and professional development of the maintenance team.
Maintain accurate service and inspection records using fleet management software.
Provide regular reporting and strategic recommendations to leadership.
Proven ability to lead, coach, and inspire teams in a maintenance or operations environment.
Strong technical knowledge of fleet maintenance, diagnostics, and repair procedures.
Experience managing budgets, parts inventory, vendor relationships, and safety compliance.
Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a proactive and collaborative approach.
Familiarity with fleet management systems and Microsoft Office tools.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Automotive Technology, or a related field (preferred).
5+ years of fleet maintenance experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory or managerial role.
Experience in logistics, transportation, or waste management is a plus.
ASE certification or similar industry certifications (preferred).
Ability to work in both office and fleet yard environments.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and occasionally work outdoors on uneven surfaces.
Comfortable performing inspections and walking/standing for extended periods.
